REVISIONS (July 2012)
In
preparing the July newsletter and rereading some old ones, some of the
information that I have written for the family in the past has changed. I cite as an example this month’s newsletter. In the past I knew very little about the
Kuhnert family, only that there was a child from the marriage of Louis Jr. and
I had no name nor any way of tracking her.
But let me digress a little further.
In the 2000 newsletter I had some of the names in this picture of the Kuhnerts incorrect. At that time, the Kuhnert family was lost to me. I only based the names on those I knew and guessed at those I didn’t know. (The year turned out to be correct.)

By the time of the 2004 Kuhnert newsletter, I corrected the names but in the SISTERS booklet of 2005 I changed the date to 1907 because I thought it celebrated the 25th anniversary of the wedding date of Minnie and Josie. In the meantime I had discovered Joe Heimer died on July 7, 1908.
However, another surprise awaited me. After you read the July newsletter you will discover that the child I knew nothing about married and also had a child. But the parents of that child were in the picture and I had assumed they were married but did not know when. I just found the date to be May 22, 1908. So, that picture was taken between May 22 and July 7 in 1908 because Joe Heimer is in it (Page 17). It was through the internet that I was able to find the marriage date.
In reading over the booklet SISTERS printed in 2005 I found another discrepancy so those of you who received the booklet, please make this change. Louis died in 1920, and not the date given (Page 20). I had the age of the child as five in January 1917 and although she was born July 23, 1911 she was still five at the time so that remains the same in case of confusion. Just a few in the family have this booklet SISTERS, so make this correction in your copies, please.
Now that anyone can look up information on the internet, family genealogy has become much easier to research. There are even two programs on TV and, through the search tools available, just entering a name often brings up many results, even my old newsletter issues. Nevertheless, I’m still working from my old records that I have accumulated over many years and I’m hoping I don’t find too many errors along the way.
