PAGES 154 & 156 (December 2011)
For those
of you who have the reprint booklet of The
Dorland Family in America, you will look in vain for the writer of the
letter addressed to “Delphine.” The
reason for this is because when I was making the reprint I stopped at the last
page of our family, page 155. The
reprint was made years ago and at that time there was no way for me to make
copies except to flatten the book for each copy, and the book itself was so
fragile I stopped at our page which was 155.
and page 156 where Delphine shows up and is not in the reprint. I still have the original copies of the reprint but not as printed.
I wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The year 2012 will be the year of the families, some I know a lot of history about and some I know very little about but historically we are part of this great land of the USA. |
However, since we decided to publish this irreplaceable bit of antiquity I had to look for Delphine and found her on page 156. Consequently not having had to destroy the spine of the book any more with modern technology I am showing you the page along with the page of the other participants. Jerry Larkin has figured out how to make page 156 available (click here) for those who want to cut it out and put it into the reprint of the Dorland Family booklet. I am showing you page 154 (included in the reprint booklet) which is where Nelson shows up with his son Solon,
