TIDBITS ABOUT THE ELSONS (November 2009)
The Elson clan cousins in the U.S. are many, simply because Richard (November newsletter) and William, Mary Elizabeth’s father, had so many children. They are scattered all over and if you ever run into an Elson, chances are they are kin. I had correspondence with many of them, hoping to prove the parents of Mary Turner, Richard’s mother. So far no luck, but over the years I found many distant cousins.
Rowena and her daughters, Marsha and Erin, sent me the most recent news. They are descendents from TURNER ELSON, brother of Mary Elizabeth. I haven’t identified the groups. Just know they are distant Elson cousins.

There is a bed-and-breakfast and mill in Magnolia, Ohio run by A. R. Elson, descendent of the man who founded Magnolia. If you ever go there, be sure and identify yourself as an Elson.
In the past I bought a CD of Emma Elson’s diary which was written in the 1800s. She was a descendent of John Harris Elson, a son of Richard. It is very whimsical and apropos of a young woman of her generation.
Don Elson is a professor in Blacksburg, Virginia and was trying to help me with the Mary Turner brick wall. I must get in touch with him very soon.
